Tuff Tip pH Probe

The PTT183-20B is a tuff tip pH Probe, designed to fit into the PTT183-20B Dip pH Electrode system.

The probe has a 3/4" BSP mounting thread which makes it easy to install into the PTT90S dip pH probe assembly. Even better, when it comes to removing the pH probe for calibration, it's simply a case of unscrewing the electrode and carrying through the calibration procedure.

The tuff tip liquid reference junction is specifically shaped to prevent the pH bulb from breaking. This is especially important when the dip pH probe assembly is installed into tanks and vessels with mixers or agitators present.

The tuff tip also works as a large annular reference junction, meaning that the porous material is always in contact with the solution being measured and the large surface area gives the tuff tip pH probe an excellent response time to shift in the pH value.

As with all the pH probes with the tuff tip reference, the reference junction is non-fouling meaning that you don't need to inspect, clean or replace a pH probe where the reference has fouled.

The tuff tip pH probe PTT183-20B also features a double junction to ensure that it is resistant to electrode poisoning. This is where the solution being measured can react with the silver, silver chloride reference of a single junction pH electrode, causing poor performance, inaccurate readings and eventually electrode failure.

The tuff tip pH probe not only benefits from the large annular reference junction, it also has a recessed pH bulb.  This makes it very difficult for the bulb to break. If the pH electrode were to be pushed onto a flat surface, the pH bulb would not be in contact with the surface. 

The PTT183-20B combines precision pH measurement with a probe designed to withstand difficult mechanical environments.

With a double junction, the PTT183-20B is resistant to electrode poisoning.

The pH probe is also fitted with 20 feet or 6 metres of connecting cable as standard, meaning that installation into a process vessel, tank or other vessel is as simple as possible.
