Process control in the Automotive Industry

Automotive Icon

Having delivered process control solutions for industry since 1982 we've gained a lot of experience working with our customers in the automotive and heavy construction equipment industries.

Our equipment is often specified for use in the automotive industry due to the reliability of our analysers and control equipment as well as the ready availability of replacement sensors.

Applications

Equipment supplied by Automated Water & Effluent Ltd is often used in both the process control and effluent treatment side of the automotive and heavy construction industries.

We have used our temperature and liquid level controllers in heated process tanks which prevent a situation from occurring where a tank is heated while empty, which can cause a serious fire risk.

As well as safety devices, our conductivity instruments are often found working in both a solution strength capacity and as rinse water control devices. Both of these uses of conductivity are designed to reduce wastage both from a supply perspective (both chemical and water) as well as reduce the amount of effluent sent for treatment.

In addition to supplying process control equipment into the automotive sector, or pH and open channel flow are incorporated into numerous effluent treatment plants throughout the UK's automotive industry.

Conductivity

conductivity

Conductivity is the measurement of electrical conductance, normally caused by ions dissolved in the measured solution.

Conductivity is an very useful measurement with a variety of applications, from measuring chemical reagent strength, water purity or controlling towns water feed across both process control and water treatment applications.

pH

ph

pH is the measurement of hydrogen ion concentration and is a widely used electrochemical parameter for both process control applications and for effluent treatment.

The measurement and data-logging of the pH value following pH neutralisation is normally a conditional requirement for a consent to discharge agreement.
