V-Notch Tanks and V-Notch Plates
V-Notch tanks are an excellent way of measuring effluent discharge or outfall monitoring.
The tanks themselves are manufactured in robust PolyPropylene to a customers specifications. Normally, the following points are considered when specifying a V-Notch tank:-
- Internal / external placement.
- Restrictions in available floor space.
- Flow rate being monitored.
- Mounting points for sensors (including pH, Temperature, Turbidity), as well as others.
Each V-Notch tank also includes a mounting point for an ultrasonic Flow Meter which ensures that the total and instantaneous flow can be calculated.
V-Notch Plate
Each V-Notch tank includes a mounting point for a V-Notch plate. These are manufactured in 316 Stainless Steel and precision laser cut to ensure a true and constant angle.
The V-Notch plate is then secured into the V-Notch tank. As water flows over the V-Notch plate, the rise in water level due to the restriction is measured by the ultrasonic flow meter. The flow meter takes the reading of the level and accurately calculates the flow rate.

Designed for outfall monitoring of effluent discharge, where monitoring inline with a consent to discharge agreement is required.
The V-Notch tanks are custom built to ensure that they fit with your requirements. This includes the physical dimensions to ensure that they can fit where space is restricted. We also account for whether the V-Notch tank is to be mounted inside or outside, as well as the flow rate of the effluent discharge.
Our V-Notch tanks can include a mounting point for an ultrasonic flow meter as well as additional mounting points for any required sensors, which commonly include Temperature, pH and turbidity. Additional sensors can also be fitted.
Each V-Notch tank includes an outlet for final discharge; an inlet suitable for your application and a mounting point suitable for a V-Notch plate, matched to your flow rate.

A 30° V-Notch plate which is manufactured in 316 Stainless Steel and secured in place using the fabricated mounting points.
The angles within the V-Notch plate are laser cut to ensure a continuous angle with unrivalled precision. The V-Notch can be certified in accordance with MCerts when paired with a V-Notch tank and suitable ultrasonic flow meter.

A 60° V-Notch plate which is manufactured in 316 Stainless Steel and secured in place using the fabricated mounting points.
