CL7687 Chlorine Controller

The CL7687 Chlorine controller is designed for direct reading of free chlorine values in ppm or mg/L and can operate in many modes including automatic, measure or simulated modes.

The CL7687 is a panel mounted Chlorine Controller designed to work with either an Open Amperometric Chlorine Cell or our SZ283 Potentiostatic Chlorine Sensor, and when combined with our SZ283, it is designed to allow for measurement of Free Chlorine / Residual Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide or Bromine.


Key Features

With IP65 protection the CL7687 offers some key features including an industry standard 4-20mA output, which allows for PID control or transmission of the measured values. During PID control through the analog output, the level of the actuation is displayed. The user can select an FM regulation (pulse frequency) or WM (pulse width) addressed to the assigned relay.

The CL7687 has an easy installation process rating and is suitable for panel mounting. For wall mounting take a look at the CL6587, it also allows for other mounting options including DIN rail and handrail with the help optional accessories. It also has a large monochrome display that shows the chlorine measurement values and guides the user through set-up, configuration and normal operation using the dedicated keys to directly access zero and sensitivity calibration as well as initial configuration.

The CL7687 also has a dedicated relay to an external device to initiate self-cleaning. This function is fully programmable through the controllers’ software. The controller also uses a universal power supply from 85 to 264 Vac, 50/60 Hz, with low voltage option that allows to power the unit from 9 to 36 Vdc or from 12 to 24 Vac, 50/60 Hz.

Chlorine Controller Range

Chlorine is an excellent sanitising agent or disinfectant and as such is used in a wide variety of industrial processes as well as in swimming pools and other water treatment applications.

A chlorine controller is a piece of equipment designed to be permanently installed to allow the measurement and control of chlorine applications.

Our Chlorine controllers offer precision measurement Free Chlorine / Residual Chlorine when using an open amperometric chlorine cell. When paired with our SZ283 Potentiostatic Amperometric Chlorine Cell the chlorine controller will measure Free Chlorine / Residual Chlorine and can also be used for the measurement of other disinfectants and sanitisers such as Bromine, Chlorine Dioxide and Dissolved Ozone.

The chlorine controllers within our range are suitable for use in the measurement and control of chlorine in portable water, process water, food processing, swimming pool processing and waste water treatment.

Chlorine Measurement and Control

When measuring and controlling chlorine processes the installation type can be critical depending upon the application. As chlorine is consumed as it disinfectants and due to the low vapour pressure can 'gas off' from the measured solution sometimes controlling the dosing from a chlorine controller isn't recommended. The outputs of the chlorine controller are instead used for alarm functions and integrated into process and monitoring equipment.

Alternatively our chlorine control range includes numerous control functions, including on / off control relays, proportional control relays, as well as range scaled 4-20mA outputs and expandable 4-20mA outputs which can be used in combination with dosing pumps, solenoid valves and actuated positioning valves to ensure precise control based on the measured chlorine value.

The CL7635 is a chlorine controller, designed to work with an open amperometric chlorine sensor or with our SZ283 potentiostatic Chlorine sensor.


CL7635 Chlorine Controller Introduction

The CL7635 is a chlorine controller, designed for use in a number of applications, including swimming pool chlorination, potable water applications and industrial disinfection / sanitisation processes including pulp & paper and bottling plant operations.

Designed to work with either an open amperometric chlorine cell or our SZ283 Potentiostatic Chlorine Sensor, and when combined with our SZ283, the CL7635 is designed to measure Free Chlorine / Residual Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide or Bromine. 

The CL7635 Chlorine Controller is a panel mounted controller which is also available in panel mounting configuration.  The CL7635 has a large bright red LED digital display in a DIN spec housing 96 x 96mm and is designed for the DN 47300 standard.  This instrument also has a very short case length at only 95mm, allowing the controller to be mounted into compact sized control panels, saving on both space and cost.

The easy to use CL7635 Chlorine Controller has 8 buttons located on the front for easy access to the setup, configuration and calibration areas of the software. This enables an easy setup and configuration to be possible and makes periodic calibration a simple process with the dedicated Zero and Sensitivity calibration buttons.

To ease the installation of the CL7635 Chlorine Controller, the instrument is fitted with a switch mode power supply which is suitable for a supply voltage of 86 - 264 VAC 50 / 60Hz.

The CL7635 Chlorine Controller includes 2 x control relays for use in either High or Low operation and an alarm relay which is operated when the Chlorine reading is outside of the user-configurable parameter.

In addition, the CL7635 has a 4-20mA output isolated to 600Ω making it ideal for incorporation into BMS or PLC systems, as well as with an online Data Logger or with a digital Chart Recorder.

CL7635 Chlorine Controller with 4-20mA Output

The CL7635 has an industry standard 4-20mA output which correlates to the user selectable ranges.  This ensures that the 4-20mA will give an accurate output corresponding to the range, with 4mA at the lowest point, and the 20mA at the top of the selected range.

The 4-20mA output is isolated into 600Ω so that it is incredibly easy to connect to a PLC, Online Data Logger, digital Chart Recorder or other device.


CL7635 Chlorine Controller with Control Relays

The front panel of the CL7635 includes 8 keys that allow simple navigation of the options of the panel mounted chlorine controllers.  The Zero and Span for the calibration procedure are mounted on the front of the controller.  In addition, both set-points are identified with their own front mounted button, allowing their values to be easily changed.

The dedicated up/down arrows on the front of the controller provide for the easy modification of either the calibration or set-point values.  This decreases initial setup time, or the time spent during periodic calibration or maintenance.

The 2 x control set-points and 2 x control relays can be set to high or low operation independently.  Each of the control relays includes a variable hysteresis and a delay timer which can be set from 0-100 seconds.

In addition to the control relays, the CL7635 has an alarm relay which is energised when the measured chlorine value is outside of the set parameters.

There is also a logic input on the CL7635 which takes a volt free contact closure input. When activated the logic input isolates the output relays preventing them from energising. The Logic Input can be connected directly to the alarm relay if required.

The CL7335 Chlorine controller offers prescision measurements of free chlorine / residual chlorine and a host of control options all within a compact housing.


Small Chlorine Controller Introduction

The model CL7335 is our small case chlorine controller and is a member of our series 7335 analytical instruments.  The 7335 series are housed in 48 x 96 Din standard enclosures which are only 95mm deep and designed for mounting in panels where space is at premium. The CL7335 is also available in a surface mounting enclosure.

With a large bright display, the current conductivity value on the CL7335 controller is easily visible, even in bright sunlight.

Despite the compact size of the small panel mount conductivity controller, the CL7335 has 2 x control relays offering High / Low operation with optional delay timers.  The CL7335 also has an alarm relay and an industry standard isolated 4-20mA output signal isolated into 600Ω.

The CL7335 is powered via a switch mode power supply, allowing a supply voltage of either 85 - 264 VAC 50 / 60Hz.
