Obsolete Dosing Pumps and Metering Pumps
This section covers our historical range of dosing and metering pumps. Please visit the products section of our site for the current range of Dosing Pumps
AWE have supplied dosing pumps from several international manufacturers during the early years of our company, these where mainly engineered into systems. Unfortunately we found ourselves competing with our suppliers, hence we made other arrangements.
Please visit the products section for our current Red Dosing Pump range
FCO Dosing Pump
We have been supplying the F series electronic dosing pumps since 1994 and a large installed base of these cost effective dosing pump exists.
The FCO is a simple metering pump with outputs up to 5 Litres / Hr against 5 bar pressure. The pumps have a fixed stroke length and the output was controlled by adjusting the pump frequency or number of strokes per minute the pump solenoid makes.
The FCO pump was manually adjustable and the FPV Pump was automatically controlled from volt-free contact closure (external pacing) in either a contacting head water meter or pH controller to provide proportional dosing. In a similar way to the AWE HY Series of Dosing Pump which now replaces the FCO Pump.
FCO metering pumps could take a mains supply single phase 230 VAC.
The FCO Series of Metering Pump has been superseded by the new AWE HY BL Dosing Pump.
FCO Dosing Pump Replacement
The HY Series of pump offers equal pressure and volume outputs to the FCO Pump and benefits from a switch mode power supply allowing our customers to operate the pump from a voltage ranging from 100 VAC to 240 VAC at 50Hz / 60Hz, as well as the standard version we have versions with a low level switch off, 4-20mA current input, and pulsed inputs..
VCO Dosing Pump
The VCO dosing pump was designed to replace the FCO dosing pump.
The outputs ranged from 0 - 1 L/Hr against 20 Bar to 0 - 17 L/Hr against 2 Bar (different models).
The VCO Pump was a simple to operate pump and could be manually adjusted.
There was also a VPV Dosing Pump that featured an external pacing input for flow proportional dosing
A VMS Pump was introduced offering a menu driven operation. The VCO metering pump could be set to a precise output in either litres or a number of strokes per minute, be controlled by a volt free external contact (external pacing) with a multiple or divide function by up to 999.
The output can also be selected to be proportional to 4-20 mA electrical signal. To prevent the pump running dry there is a low level float switch input, which stops the pump.
The VCO Pump, VPV Pump, and VMS Pump have now been replaced by the AWE AT Series of metering pump.
VCO Dosing Pump Replacement
The AWE AT Series offers an increased range of outputs, control from a 4-20mA input, PFM input, allowing either batch controlled dosing or dosing to a specific PPM, as well as pulse counting, low-level switch off and a switch mode power supply allowing the pump to operate from 100 VAC to 240 VAC at either 50Hz or 60Hz.
For equal output to the VCO Dosing Pump we would recommend the AWE AT3 Pump which offers outputs upto 18.0 Litres / Hour against 2 Bar
GCO Dosing Pump
The GCO dosing pump series offered a larger output compared to the VCO Pump. The GCO metering pump had a fixed stroke length, the output was controlled by adjusting the pump frequency or number of strokes per minute the pump solenoid made.
This is achieved by adjusting the control knob scaled 0 - 100% which corresponds to 0 - 120 strokes per minute. The GPV is a pump where the flow rate is manually adjustable or automatically controlled from volt-free contact closure (external pacing) in either a contacting head water meter or pH controller to provide proportional dosing.
Mains supply single phase 230 VAC
GCO Dosing Pump Replacement
The AWE AT MT Series increases the precision of dosing compared with the GCO Pump. The whole AWE AT-MT range also offer switch mode power supply between 110 VAC and 240 VAC at 50 Hz / 60 Hz for our export and international customers.
In addition to precision dosing the AWE AT2-MT, AT3-MT and AT4-MT have outputs of up to 60 Litres / Hour at 0.5 Bar and can be controlled manually or automatically by external pacing pulse or 4-20mA control signal.
KCO Dosing Pump
The KCO Metering pump featured a manual adjustable of the output.
The KCO Pump allows the flow rate to be manually adjustable. The model KPV allowed external pacing in either a contacting head water meter or pH controller to provide proportional dosing.
Mains supply single phase 230 VAC.
The KCO Pump has been replaced by the AWE AT BX Series of Dosing Pump with optional pump stand.
KCO Dosing Pump Replacement
The AWE AT1 & AT2 Series of Dosing Pump offer the volume and pressure range of the KCO Dosing Pump along with manual control. The KPV Dosing Pump replacement has input proportional to pacing pulses from a water meter or pH Controller either as a direct input or the ability to divide the pulsed signal. In addition the AT1 and AT2 Series of pump offer the flexibility to take a 4-20mA current input from a controller as well as a low-level cut off to prevent the pump operating when the dosed chemical is at low level.
As with all our current metering pump range the AT1 and AT2 series offer switch mode power supply allowing the pump to operate from 110 VAC to 240 VAC across 50 Hz / 60 Hz.
CMS Dosing Pump & CMS-PV Dosing Pump
The CMS-PV Dosing Pumps featured a manual output adjustment or auto-control by external pacing pulses from a contacting head water meter or pH controller. For flow proportional dosing applications the external pulsed signal could have been either set to be multiplied or divided to take into account of water meters of varying K factors to achieve the precise dose rate.
The CMS pumps were manufactured in glass filled Polypropylene housings, which were designed to provide protection to IP65.
We have now replaced the CMS-PV Dosing Pump with the AWE AT-AM Series of Dosing Pump.
CMS Dosing Pump Replacement
The AT Series of Dosing Pump enables us to offer a range of dosing pump where precise pressure delivery and precise volume dosed aren't comprised. Further to this the inputs of the AWE AT Series of metering pump mean that we can offer manual control, flow proportional control (where the pulsed input can be divided to allow for differing k-factors), and a current input of 4-20mA from a wide range of controllers
Metering Pump Model IBD
Metering Pump Model IBD wall mounting dosing pump sold during the early 1990s Outputs up to 7 L/hr very few are believed to be left in service
Replacement Dosing Pump
The suggested replacement dosing pump is the HY Series or AT1 and AT2 Model of Dosing Pump with outputs up to 8 Litres/hr or 20.0 bar pressure with various control functions.
Commonly called the ‘hedgehog pump’ because of the shape of the Dosing Pump, advantages were the foot mounting metering pump could be dismantled and reassembled for wall mounting. Disadvantage was the alloy housing suffered from condensation inside the housing and attack from chemical on the outside, which is why so few survived.
Replacement Dosing Pump
Please note all our Red Dosing pumps are housed in moulded polycarbonate housings, which are corrosion resistant and sealed to an IP65 (Nema 4X) standard
